Biggest Cyber Theft: An Alleged Hacker behind Rockstar GTA Leak is 16 Years Old

The FBI is looking into the hacker who took credit for this weekend’s massive Grand Theft Auto 6 content leak.

The high-profile hacking of ride-hailing firm Uber has issued an update on the company’s findings. They also claimed to have been carried done by the same perpetrator. In a recently updated blog post, Uber stated: There are reports that this actor violated video game developer Rockstar Games over the weekend. They worked closely with the FBI and the US Department of Justice on this issue and will support their efforts.

In a statement, Uber believed the perpetrator to be associated with a cyber-attack organization named Lapsus$. It has become highly engaged in the past year and has previously compromised several other tech firms this year, including Microsoft, Samsung, and Nvidia.

Rockstar revealed that it had experienced network attacks that had caused sensitive data to be removed from its systems. Even though the GTA creator expressed great disappointment, there was no long-term influence on production. There were no interruptions to live programs like Grand Theft Auto Online.
